Fourteen members of the Foxtrot Battery/202 ADA of the Illinois National Guard, who have been home from the war only six months, are being redeployed, this time to help in the Hurricane Katrina relief effort.

All 14 volunteered for the relief work. They left Tuesday morning for Sullivan, and will be attached to Company/634th Forward Support Company, said Sgt. First Class Larry Comer of the Galva Armory.

Foxtrot Battery/202 ADA, soon to become Delta Company/634 Forward Support Co., is in the process of becoming a forward support unit, with its new battalion headquarters in Sullivan, between Decatur and Mattoon, Comer said. Foxtrot was headquartered in Kewanee.

Once at Sullivan, the Guardsmen will go through records and equipment. They have not yet been given specific assignments, although they have been told that their stay in the New Orleans area will last one to six months.

They include Nathan Piper and Patrick DeGeorge, of Amboy, Timothy Bowman of Forreston, Kenneth Giza of Oregon, Todd Kavran of Sterling and Paul Lilley of Polo.
