The IAVA has an online petition to request that these vermin do not take away the rights and the voice of our armed forces in this year's election.

Here is a news article on the story, focusing on the disenfranchisement of the homeless and poor. The military would be yet another group the GOP is trying to silence in this year's election.

Indians workers deal with their corrupt management their own way.

Hell, our Big Business Bastards don't even get a slap on the wrist and get tens of millions for driving companies into the ground.

I'm not advocating rivers of blood in the street, but maybe a couple of these guys could use a good drubbing, ya know?

Things swept under the rug

I forgot about this story but was thinking about it the other day when I realized that NO ONE is discussing immigration in the election this year.

I really wish it would come up. One, it's an important issue. Two, McCain is either going to piss off Rethugs by being a "maverick" or completely shit on his own past by claiming nativist, racist beliefs in order to earn votes. Either way works for me.

In May, ICE pulled a raid on a kosher meat packing plant in Postville, IA. The local response says both a lot on how Americans can be good neighbors and, unfortunately, how some of us can be total scumbags. More here and more on the labor issues revealed by the case as well.

You'd hope that a nation of immigrants would know better, but with GOP fanning the flames of racism and intolerance, no such luck.

Weird science

Rethugs and Talibangelicals are afeared that the world is gonna end.

Wait a minute, I thought they WANTED the world to end? Isn't that why they are burning down the forests, drilling everywhere, bombing brown people, and torturing those who live through the bombings? Isn't that why they are trying to destroy science, make our children ignorance abstinence-only/butt-sex/Palin-spawn breeders, and kill any innovation that would stop us from giving billions to Saudis princes who then give said money to al-Qaeda to come kill our decadent asses?

Anyway, this comes to mind today as the Large Hadron Collider comes online today. If you are still reading this, nothing drastic happened. The world didn't end. The Rapture didn't happen.

Wired takes a look at the best and worst case scenarios for what the collider will do.

And if you truly ARE worried that science and not the Anti-Christ will end life as we know it, head on over to Has The Large Hadron Collider Destroyed the World Yet.com.

Oh, and don't worry about the lunatic fringe. Talibangelical farmers are already up in arms about RFID tagging on farm animals. Apparently all our meat is now subject to bearing the Mark of the Beast.

Freaks.

Obama Pictures and McCain Pictures

HuffPo has a couple freakout posts about folks who think McCain will automatically win because he chose a woman for his VP pick.

Never mind that she has abused power, bilked her state to pay for home cooked meals, lied repeatedly, hates choice, hates science, hates books, hate gay people, hates living creatures and loves oil as much as Dick Cheney. Oh, and is now taking political advice from Bushites.

That said, my mother-in-law is enthralled with her. Then again, the other side of the family is infested with GOP dolt think, but you have to hope folks will stop voting for racist Talibangelicals someday. Not this election apparently.

Sure, Dana Quayle has star power, but she also won't talk to the media, presumably because she doesn't know anything. This may not matter to a country that cares more about American Idol than on how our troops keep dying in that debacle in Iraq, but you've got to hope this country is better than that, ya know?

So, McCain is being a racist, which is predictable with a GOP candidate.

And now, he's apparently able to find sexism everywhere he looks. And let's be fair here. Obama said a dumb thing, but nowhere near as belligerent as when McCain attacked Clinton earlier this year. Sexism, thy home is the Republican Party and it's "feminazi" hate brigade.

Besides, isn't Palin supposed to be strong enough to fight her own battles? Isn't it a bit of male domineering roleplaying to have Ol' Man Johnny comin' to his woman's rescue?

Maybe I just don't get it.

And here we go....

Angry. Black. Man.

Get used to it. The GOP is already rolling out the big racist guns.

"Obama's speech was predictable, it was implausible, and it was strikingly, inexplicably, angry."

If you can't reason why Obama - and the rest of us actual Americans - are angry, you fuckers haven't been paying attention. Said quote is in a review on Obama's acceptance speech at the National Review. It is utter bullshit, but I linked it anyway. Don't read it unless you LIKE migraines.

And honestly, McCain HAS to go the racist route, it's the only way he's bound to win given his litany of screwups. I mean, it starts with him calling Obama "uppity" and plunges downhill from there.

This is what you get with conservatives. So-called "Christian" groups bring up slavery when discussing Obama.

Something else you get with conservatives, theocons, and Talibangelicals is death. If they aren't bombing brown people or blowing up federal buildings, Republicans are shooting up liberal churches, assassinating Democratic party heads or are likely in hundreds of places currently planning to assassinate Obama.

And McCain is fine with it. Indeed, he doesn't even want to talk about race in this country or as it applies to the election. He KNOWS he has to pander to the racists and bigots to win.

He's too obtuse to realize that winning that way isn't winning at all.

Turns out Sarah Palin is yet another Talibangelical. Reference this story concerning her psycho minister. Seriously, can't we just tax churches like this and get it over with?

We love you Ned

From Ned's current Facebook status. I believe it points out the hypocrisy of the GOP and Talibangelicals in a nutshell:

Ned Bronson agrees with the GOP, Palin's daughter's pregnancy is private. Same with abortion, gay marriage, euthanasia, and recreational drug
