What Democratic Leadership Means

| | Comments (0)

This ad for Tom Udall, running for Senate in New Mexico, who really IS supporting our troops. And they know it.

Sergeant Erik Schei:

"Anything I would say about this ad probably just detracts from how moving it is. Even us die-hard campaign hacks here at Udall HQ get quiet and a bit choked up when we watch it. I just wanted to share it here because it is so easy for us all to get wrapped up in the horserace, the tit-for-tat and the minutiae of campaigning that we can forget why we do this. And who we're really working for."

Cyborg Cindy Hates our Troops

| | Comments (0)

Coming on the heels of her statements that McCain doesn't suffer from PTSD because he was trained better as an officer, Cyborg Cindy plays politics with our troops by blaming Obama for not supporting them. This is reference to a vote he made against a funding bill that didn't include a timetable for withdrawal in Iraq. If her logic is supposedly sound, her own husband did THE SAME THING voting against bills that *did* include timetables.

In short, I don't hear Michelle Obama accusing McCain of being unpatriotic and not supporting the troops. But I sure hear the Borg Queen whining about it.

Military families are likely to support McCain, but signs of younger military families supporting Obama are everywhere. The World investigates this further.

The Guardian speaks with family members of deployed troops.

Also from The World, last week they investigated the history of how wars end. Give it a listen.

Vet-to-Vet

On the heels of the IAVA "D" vote for McCain's so-called support of our troops and veterans, comes this ad from VoteVets:

IAVA - Veteran Report Card

Check to see how your Senator or Rep did to truly support our troops.

For the record, Obama got a B. McCain got a D, which likely would have been worse had he actually had the balls to vote against the new GI Bill instead of running away to California for a fundraiser.

McCain made a big show of being pro-vet and pro-troops during the debate last week.

Granted, those who know understand what a crock of shit that was, is, and will be in the future. For those who still think "the maverick" isn't lying through his frigging teeth, read this.

He could not be against our military any more if he tried. And trust me, he's trying.
