Uncompassionate Educators

By John on May 24, 2010 3:39 PM | No Comments

I was going to go in another vein with one of these stories but they keep cropping up.

So, here goes.

Conservatives bitch and moan about how the "liberals are brainwashing our children" and how education teaches kids to think and care for others and the environment. You know, stuff like where things are, not everyone brown needs bombed, science and condoms exist: use them, and so on. I've spent some time highlighting the lies passing as history in a Texas history book coming to a school near you.

But there are other problems with having conservatives involved in education.

In San Antonio, teachers apparently feel comfortable in bashing Mexicans to the faces of their Latino students. Said teacher was told to take a week off and is already back in class.

In Alabama, a teacher used to concept of assassinating President Obama as a means to teaching parallel lines and angles. You know, just in case some hillbilly teen might want to take a shot at our nation's leader. Once again, the teacher wasn't fired, and the Secret Service decided not to make an example of them. Again. Can we at least put ONE of these assassination lovers behind bars?

And, just for kicks, in Florida, two teachers are accused of dousing their atheist co-worker in holy water in the hopes of converting them.

Apparently that's the compassionate thing to so in the Sunshine State.

Jerks.

Even Reagan Wasn't a Reagan Republican - Newsweek.com

Apparently, conservative icons like Nixon and Reagan himself would be run out of the party by Tea Bagging Traitors given their policy stances.

Washington Times Compares 'Tea-Bagger' To N-Word

By John on May 5, 2010 11:55 AM | No Comments

Here's the problem with Tea Baggers. First, they come up with their own nickname, which, frankly, is always a bad thing. Second, said nickname has dirty sexual connotations and they get pissed when people hilariously point this out to them. (Case in point, if some angry guy named Richard wanted to be called "Raging Dick" he should expect to be laughed at.)

Third, they are historically inaccurate in their platform - such as it is - and then can't see the rank hypocrisy their stance puts them in after decades of Republican spending.

Fourth, they are chock full of racists and violent treason types and don't do a damn thing to silence those who have sullied anything they said that might have made sense.

So what do you do when you've made a mockery of yourselves and are tied to racist traitors? What do you do when your race has been in power for hundreds of years, enslaving others and taking the land of those you didn't put under the yoke? You claim you are being discriminated against.

Um, yeah, that's not really going to work here idiots.

The Rachel Maddow Show - Tea Party really very, very small. And that's the scary part.

By John on April 27, 2010 8:31 AM | No Comments

There are less than 24 Tea Bagging Traitors for every 10,000 Americans, but they've managed to take over FAUXNews and the GOP. Sure, there aren't a lot of them, but if you give them a party and a network they could be dangerous.

Democrats need to challenge these racist treason lovers and to present a better alternative to hate and division.

It's sad how lunatics just keep on inspiring others to do evil. To some, Timothy McVeigh is a hero. That's really all you need to know about these people.

Have Conservatives Gone Mad? - Marc Ambinder

By John on April 25, 2010 10:31 PM | No Comments

Marc Ambinder seriously wants to know if conservatives have lost their minds.

Hang on a second. Here ya go.

The GOP is now making a historical reference to Guy Fawkes and themselves. A little more background here.

Let's put it this way. Guy Fawkes tried to kill the King of England and all of Parliament.

So, in short, the GOP wants to link themselves to a concept of, let's be honest, the equivalent of killing President Obama and blowing up the Capitol.

It's there in the historical record. The one they want to tie themselves to. They want to assassinate any member of our government they don't agree with.

Smart.

But we're supposed to believe that the Tea Bagging Terrorists are neither racist nor bigoted.

Riiiiiiiight!

On a side note, what is it with disabled wingnuts being the worst? They collect disability but hate the government. They face discrimination in their lives but are among the most racist, sexist, and hateful folks. Not to generalize but of those who live in a world of seething hatred, the worst of that ilk seem to have a wheelchair.

You still think the Tea Bagger crap isn't racist? Read this.

You KNOW the army would be sent out to confront and probably kill an angry, anti-government mob of minorities armed to the teeth calling for the president's death.

Just saying.

The Rachel Maddow Show - Just in time for the OKC anniversary, a new militia movement in Oklahoma

One of the most haunting and moving experiences I've had is visiting the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial. It really hits you when you are there the depths of the hatred that live in some people's souls. As a whole, Oklahoma once was unified in it's opposition to violence as a means of political discourse. They had seen the face of evil and wanted nothing to do with it. The monsters that dwell in this trade are those like McVeigh.

The days of Oklahoma learning a painful lesson in the costs of violent extremism are apparently over.

Oklahoma has moved towards creating a traitor militia. I used to only be ashamed of having lived in Texas. Now chalk up Oklahoma to that list.

Honestly, watching Inhofe and Coburn over recent years has done the job, but this is beyond the pale. These folks - literally - should know better.
