Look, this is irrational

By John on October 29, 2008 9:38 AM | No Comments

Obama is way up in the polls and McCain is running a sordid campaign built on lies and incompetence.

This *should* be a cakewalk.

But yet....

Maybe we're all hyperventilating for no reason. Maybe everyone WILL go out and vote. Maybe Diebold and Sycamore, et al won't rig the election. Maybe the GOP will stop trying to disenfranchise millions.

Maybe pigs will fly.

There is hoping and there is doing. Get your ass out there and vote people!

Oh, that PG-13 thing?

Yeah, I've gotten a couple emails/IMs on this.

Yes, I've become a bit of a potty mouth lately. I should calm it down. And hopefully I can after the election.

That said, every time I see the attendees to a Palinite rally, I am reminded of how hateful, divisive, and racist our citizens can be. Particularly the Republicans. Particularly those who somehow think their narrow-mindedness is actually Christian.

It makes me spit bile. I did not bring my son into this world to have these cretins in charge. It pisses me off that they even have a voice in the form of that witch Palin.

So yeah, I cuss. But I took my boy to vote for Obama the other day. His mom voted the same way. My mom is voting the same way. Hopefully enough of us do to shut down the purveyors of hate and bigotry and get them off the controls of our nation.

Anyway, I hope that good can overcome evil, that optimism crushes bigotry, that unity conquers division.

If you haven't voted already, please do so. Thanks.

So much for the First Amendment

A Palinite bully boy in Florida...

...and attacks on Obama and his family.

And does Freedom of Speech extend to Republican Election Clerks sending emails warning of Obama as a "young, black Adolf Hitler"? Just asking.

And yes, this is wrong, but then again, so is the man:

And, since it keeps coming up, will some representative of New York State get a resolution entered into the House or Senate that DEMANDS the GOP stop using 9/11 as a bludgeon if they are going to say that New York City and Washington D.C. aren't part of "Real America"?

Not that they'll publish it....

I decided to post some BS arguments to counter the GOP talking points at the RJ.

There are a lot of slanderous and salacious things said about Obama.

I know I really should not do this, but how about two whack job observations about the GOP ticket to balance out the insanity and stupidity?

1. Palin, is, as we know, in bed with Alaskan separatists. If Obama can go to a cocktail party and become a terrorist, then if Palin had slept with and conceived children with a member of a separatist, TRAITOROUS party, what of her? How's THAT for "pro-America"?

2. John McCain was held for years by the VietCong/Soviets. They KNEW he was the son and grandson of admirals, so his importance was obvious. What is to say he is not the ultimate Manchurian candidate? How much does Putin know and can he flip McCain's code words at will?

Also, as an aside, to be truly unfair, when John McCain was given the option to go home, John McCain stayed with his captors. Was he really staying with his fellow prisoners or something else? Did he develop Stockholm Syndrome or, worse, did he CHOSE to stay with the Communists for other reasons?

Yes, these are BS arguments and laughable, but no more so than the crap said about Obama.

Anyway, I posted the comment on this story about high Democratic turnout here in Clark County.
