Some discussion and concerns amongst management and players concerning Aryzona's boneheaded new law.

MLB All-Star Game should emigrate from Arizona over immigration - CBSSports.com

By John on April 30, 2010 3:19 PM | No Comments

Apparently some folks think it is legal to create a subclass of humans based solely on race. That's the Aryzona solution.

Here's one sportswriter who wants to move the All-Star Game out of Arizona next year. I agree with the sentiment and hope it happens.

Here's another article on the protest the Diamondbacks are getting as they travel around the country. It is sad that every player is having to get yelled at for this, but the team's owners are huge GOP backers and presumably for this. So, like all business boycotts, the line workers suffer the anger. In this case, very well paid line workers, but it is still shitty.

We've got a lot of states praising treasonous history and thinking about institutionalized racism like Aryzona's. It's a damn shame this is how some of our country wants to behave. You would wish us to be better than this.

Republicans don't care if you were born here. They just want to deport anyone who is brown. Hey, Hunter, my mom wasn't a citizen when I was born. Come on over here and try to deport ME, punk.

While the State known as Arizona seethed and Latino parents fell on their knees with Rosaries in hand to pray for the future of their children Governor Jan Brewer went out for a tony dinner with gal pal and media made millionaire Sarah Palin.

All you need to know about the soulless Republicans ruining our nation can be addressed . After initiating second class citizenship for anyone brown-skinned in her state, the governor of Aryzona just had to run off to a ballgame with her race-baiting pal Sarah.

But we're supposed to believe that the Tea Bagging Terrorists are neither racist nor bigoted.

Riiiiiiiight!

On a side note, what is it with disabled wingnuts being the worst? They collect disability but hate the government. They face discrimination in their lives but are among the most racist, sexist, and hateful folks. Not to generalize but of those who live in a world of seething hatred, the worst of that ilk seem to have a wheelchair.

Ephphatha Poetry: "Imagine if the Tea Party Was Black" - Tim Wise

By John on April 24, 2010 12:53 PM | No Comments

You still think the Tea Bagger crap isn't racist? Read this.

You KNOW the army would be sent out to confront and probably kill an angry, anti-government mob of minorities armed to the teeth calling for the president's death.

Just saying.

The Ghost of Bobby Lee - Ta-Nehisi Coates - The Atlantic

This isn't about "honoring" the past--it's about an inability to cope with the present.

Ta-Nehisi Coates on how - yes - the Confederacy was about slavery and any whitewashing of the past ignores both that truth and that much of the "honoring" of the Confederacy these days has more to do with the racism and fear of "others" in those suggesting that honoring treason is patriotic.

Coddling Treason

By John on April 13, 2010 11:08 AM | No Comments

Another example of why I still refuse to give a dime to NPR. This morning on the drive in to work, I listened to this piece of shit reporting which tried to make anti-government militias soft and cuddly. Awww. No, actually, they want to violently overthrow the government. Period. I don't give a damn if they *do* honestly want to help the police once in awhile. Most of their time is spent training how to kill said policemen and other law and defense personnel.

Just the other day, Talking Points Memo hosted an article on how Tea Bagging Traitors are trying to paint a happy face on their racist, secessionist hate prop. At least TPM is aware of what kind of sham argument that is. I mean the Tea Bag candidate for governor of New York state is a lover of racism, pornography, bestiality. The Oklahoma Tea Party isn't happy with just trying to gain success at the ballot box, it also wants to stock up on guns and ammo and form a militia.

But hey, that's nothing on Virginia, which demands that you and I honor and commemorate the racists and traitors of the Confederacy.

Traitors get hung. Racists are wrong. Both need to know they are agents of hate and evil and are clearly non-American. Coddling these behaviors and making them feel credible will do nothing to better any of us.

Tea Party Movement Spreads To Military | TPMMuckraker

By John on April 13, 2010 11:02 AM | No Comments

The Tea Bagger Traitors are moving to spread treason throughout our military.

In short, they want our troops to not follow the orders of a black president. That's it in a nutshell.

If any other entity other than angry white racists were trying to subvert the chain and command system, it would be ruthlessly dealt with as a danger to our nation. Well, maybe not. The Talibangelicals have basically taken over the Air Force already I suppose.

This nation is screwed.

When Right-Wing Extremism Moves Mainstream : NPR

By John on April 11, 2010 10:34 AM | No Comments

The danger of validating violent racist traitors is that eventually they take over a part of our national discourse. This is the problem with the right wing these days. They have ceded their discourse to those who hate, fear, and would destroy all of us in the quest for some mythical America that never existed. And hell, given our history, forcing it to exist would destroy everything America is.

It isn't enough for moderates and liberals to try to fix this through laws, law enforcement, or just common decency. Conservatives need to clean up their damn mess. And quickly.

Here is the report if you are interested at all.

Series of home invasions hit the Las Vegas Valley, police say - ReviewJournal.com

By John on April 9, 2010 4:21 PM | No Comments

Josh, my boss, likes to send me links from the conservative Review Journal just to piss me off. Yeah, it's news, but from a wingnut point of view.

The paper and it's owner are bad enough. However, it's the regular commenters that really, really blow your mind.

Here's a story from today on a rash of home invasions in the area. Check out some of the comments if you wish, but here's one that - six hours after it's posting - has not yet been deleted:

This shouldn't surprise you. Conservatives lie, misrepresent the truth, try to cover it up and an organization that helps people has to shut down over the slander.

There's a special place in hell for people like this. I hope they get their proper punishment, apparently in the next life because they are getting away with everything here.

'Confederate History Month' Declared By Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell

By John on April 6, 2010 2:44 PM | No Comments

Just in case you weren't clear where Republicans stand of the concepts of secession or racial superiority over others, all you need to know is that the governor of Virginia wants to spend a whole month celebrating the treason and racism that was the Confederacy.

Other Republican governors have done this in the past as well. Then again, former Virginia governors also owned slaves. Does McDonnell want to emulate them too?

Officials worry anger at D.C. is behind low Texas census response | Houston & Texas News | Chron.com - Houston Chronicle

By John on April 2, 2010 9:50 AM | No Comments

Lesson One in how to make your race irrelevant. First you get all up in a huff because the nation elected a black man as president. Then you reject filling out the census. This makes your regions less represented in the nation's politics - hopefully losing Congressional seats as well as not gaining all the ones you are entitled to - and diverting funds from your communities, making them more backwards and obsolete than just your thought patterns.

Add to this the very successful campaign to get Latinos registered and thus overrepresented (thanks to your racist asses) and ta-da! now you don't count as much.

Quicker.

As for living there? Umm, not so sure about that, particularly after reading this article.

C-Span Caller Rails Against Black Callers (VIDEO) | TPM LiveWire

I was going to question which offended me more in this story: the racist jackass or the wimp behind the desk.

I actually know the answer to that. There will ALWAYS be racists, be illiterate, backwards, hateful bastards. They breed in trailer parks. You can't educate the little pricks fast enough to remove the taint.

But you CAN tell them they are wrong. You don't have to treat them like they have an opinion worth validating. This ass clown should have been silenced immediately. The Sarah Palin's or the world need to be told that they are wrong. Civilization cannot survive based on morons of that ilk. For our self-preservation, if not our dignity, these twits need removed from the discourse of our nation.

Sure, they can contribute - once they develop thoughts that don't lead to hatred, division, fear, and death.

Thankfully, as I was typing this up, I watched a John Stewart clip on this. I feel better now.
