Minuteman Leader: When I Said To Come To The Border Locked And Loaded, I Didn't Mean Locked And Loaded | TPMMuckraker

By John on March 29, 2010 2:15 PM | No Comments

Minuteman Militia racists are "shocked" when they call for their minions to come to the border "locked and loaded" and said racist mob shows up armed to the teeth.

Looks, it's bad enough you are bigoted pricks who don't trust the civilian and military to properly protect this nation. It is worse when you naively don't believe your own press and are confused as to why the worst parts of our society listen to your hateful directives to the letter.

If you are going to be that stupid, be silent. Your words are going to get people killed.

YouTube - How To Tell People They Sound Racist

Some good advice on confronting folks saying racist stuff, whether they mean to or not. Basically, try to take the high road and be smart about it.

Whose Country Is It? - Charles M. Blow

By John on March 28, 2010 10:06 PM | No Comments

This needs said. It needs said more often and by more people.

The problem is that the country romanticized by the far right hasn't existed for some time, and its ability to deny that fact grows more dim every day. President Obama and what he represents has jolted extremists into the present and forced them to confront the future. And it scares them.

Even the optics must be irritating. A woman (Nancy Pelosi) pushed the health care bill through the House. The bill's most visible and vocal proponents included a gay man (Barney Frank) and a Jew (Anthony Weiner). And the black man in the White House signed the bill into law. It's enough to make a good old boy go crazy....

You may want "your country back," but you can't have it. That sound you hear is the relentless, irrepressible march of change. Welcome to America: The Remix.

The Rage Is Not About Health Care - Frank Rich

By John on March 28, 2010 9:10 PM | No Comments

Frank Rich points out that, if you look at things historically, the psychotic over-reaction of the Tea Baggers and their ilk has no comparison. Except for one. The last time conservatives went this nuts was during the Civil Rights Bill passage in the 1960s. So, it isn't about "socialism" or "government takeover of, well, NOTHING" or any of their talking points. It's about racism. Pure and simple.

But I imagine most of you already knew that.

Palin, Tea Party Rally In Senator Reid's Hometown

By John on March 27, 2010 11:02 PM | No Comments

I honestly didn't listen to any of the coverage from the TraitorFest in Searchlight today.

But I did get two things out of the above article.

One, this quote from a Harry Reid supporter:

"You don't come to a man's house and start creating a ruckus."

Two, anytime you have to remind your audience that "I know you're not a racist group," then the group you're with is probably racist. These things usually go without saying.

Prepare for the racism onslaught immigration reform will bring - Sara Libby - Ill Communication - True/Slant

By John on March 25, 2010 11:32 AM | No Comments

There's some truth in this posting.

For all the racism heaped on Barack Obama and some black congressmen, how much racial animus do you believe exists in the Republican Party when it comes time to consider what to do with 10-12 million undocumented workers and their families? Or, basically, how much violence against brown people with the GOP refuse to comment on just so they can keep getting elected by Klan members?

Folks, this behavior just should not be allowed to define America. But it will be.

Racism, Homophobia Dominates Tea Party Protest Over Health Care Bill

By John on March 22, 2010 4:39 PM | No Comments
This is not a spontaneous uprising of disaffected citizens who are angry about bailouts. This is the base of the modern Republican party, same as it ever was.

- Digby on the Tea Party Racist Traitors

I'd love to say I'm surprised but I've lived in the South and in the rural Midwest. Racist Republicans are nothing new to me.

However, you used to find that the most vile woman-hating, minority-loathing, gay-bashing language was kept at home. Now it is out in the open. The secessionist bullshit is in the open. The violent revolution is on the table.

Why? Because they lost a couple elections. That's it. People, in the main, got tired of their lies and bullshit and voted a lot of Republicans out of office. Then, we the people, elected a black man president. And these cretins went insane.

You have a better explanation? Pop me an email, because nothing else looks plausible.

Our nation is progressing. Moving forward. We just now got a health insurance system that is on par with other free nations of the world. They got their's in the middle of the last century. We'll get a portion of our's in four years time. Progress. Kind of.

But this is horrible for the conservatives. Let's see what passes for compassion with them.

Reverting to time honored racism, calling black Congressmen "nigger". Spitting on Rep. Emmanuel Cleaver.

Talking Points Memo has a nice roundup on both the racial element, plus the blatant homophobia by calls of "faggot" directed at Rep. Barney Frank.

Once again, so "compassionate" these conservatives.

Here are Reps James Clyburn and Elijah condemning the Rethugs:

Wal-Mart 'Appalled' by Racial Announcement (Yeah, sure they are)

By John on March 18, 2010 1:10 PM | No Comments
"Attention, Wal-Mart customers. All blacks need to leave the store."

Wal-Mart is supposedly shocked by hiring racists to harass their black customers.

When my dad got a night job at a Wal-Mart in Illinois, he introduced me to some of the racist propaganda masquerading as training videos. Granted, the message of one tape was for white stockboys not to call elderly black men as "boy" but it was more of a wink, wink, nod, nod "don't do that in public" thing. I don't have a copy of the tape but I'm sure it's out on the Net somewhere.

Besides, Wal-Mart knows how to butter it's bread. Cater to the racist NECKCAR fans and then buy out any competition in minority-majority areas to where folks HAVE to put up with their racist shit.

Limbaugh has another reason for moving to Costa Rica | Lat/Am Daily

By John on March 10, 2010 10:42 AM | No Comments

We all know that Rimjob isn't planning to move to Costa Rica for their universal health care and green energy initiatives. Turns out though, that, yes, they DO have a sex industry. He probably won't be able to sleep with little boys there but I'm sure he's not overly picky.

Also, since we're talking about that fat gasbag, more proof he's a racist SOB:

"So, David Paterson will become the massa - who gets to appoint whoever gets to take Massa's place. So, for the first time in his life, Paterson's gonna be a massa. Interesting, interesting."

Of course, referring to Governor Paterson, who is black, having to pick who replaces Rep. Eric Massa.

Gustavo Arellano on the importance of supporting Mexican trade crafts, especially in this time of recession and narco wars down there.

I'm sure a pack of nativist bastards will attack him for the article, but it's a good sentiment, as well as good for the folks who work hard and are having a hard time gaining any benefit from it.

Some white teachers in LA thought it would be funny to celebrate OJ, Dennis Rodman, and Ru Paul as African-American "heroes" during Black History Month.

Yes folks, racism still exists.
