This is the kind of crap that will also stop me from voting for a Rethug or a Clinton (anyway, Bill *did* fool me twice).

So, if Hammond, Indiana's Tom McDermott is yesterday's Asshole of the Day, Twin Falls teacher Clint Straatman has earned today's privilege. Or Monday's since he did it then. Oh heck, let's make him Asshole of the Week.

Moving away from this crap, some sharp-barbed humor.

A joke from 23/6 about the end of the primary season: Will Puerto Ricans save a white woman from a black assailant?

From the same site, a couple of McCain jabs concerning his so-called "Maverick" status:

as well as a list of proposed slogans.

Anyone who voted to screw up the political system of this country with the purpose of mischief should carry that with them the rest of their lives. What a ridiculous way to use the vote for which people fought and died - to use that vote to make mischief. I hope you’re proud of yourself.”

- Chris Matthews, on Limbaugh's cretins

Chris Matthews, welcome to democracy. You're still slightly offensive, but I congratulate you on taking a moral stance, at least on this one.

Also from C&L, the vaguely anti-Obama and anti-Dem voter ID law disenfranchises...nuns.

George McGovern is among the first of party elders to drop his support for Clinton, move over to Obama and ask her to drop out. I'm sure more are coming.

One Clinton campaign aide says she will hang on until June 15th. With presumably all the negative attacks she can muster by then, though I imagine it will be by text message since she's about out of cash.

Marc Ambinder, usually a Hillary supporter but still a realist, wonders how Clinton now plans to lose. Good question. She could easily go scorched earth and harm the party. He then shows his colors by pointing out why she should stay in the race.

David Plouffe asks the superdelegates to start reading the tea leaves and face reality.

Slate's Hillary Clinton Deathwatch has her chances down to 4.2% after last night's results.

Apparently, there were no issues in Lake County, IN, according to the GOP election head there. They just wanted to do it right and count every vote in a precinct before reporting. Wow, being attacked for trying to get it right? From the Clintons and their supporters? Really? That says a lot.

More on that imbecile Clinton drone Tom McDermott. Apparently, he was also involved in bitching about black kids being bussed to early voting sites, presumably for Obama, but NOT being told to vote so. This is in line with the Clintonista lawsuit to stop casino workers from voting here in Nevada, or in many flavors of her campaign's efforts to strip votes away from Obama, and from Democratic voters.

While we are at it, and yeah, they have the right to change their mind but...who exactly was behind the Puerto Rico changeover from a caucus to a primary? It is the last shot in the primary season and they only made the change not much more than a month ago. Sounds fishy to me, that's all I'm saying.

A ton of election stuff. Just don't tell me you weren't warned.

"You know what's funny?

There's a guy named Harold Ickes who was on the DNC's Rules and Bylaws Committee who voted last year to strip Michigan and Florida of their delegates for violating the rules.

I mean what are the odds?"

- ABC's Jake Tapper

Clinton is going to keep trying to seat the Michigan and Florida delegates - at least the ones that voted for her, no matter what it does to the party. The irony, of course, as Tapper points out is that her attack dog Ickes is instrumental in their votes not counting in the first place. Karma, ain't it a bitch?

Incidentally, she's broke. Oh, yeah, she's still morally and philosophically bankrupt, but she's loaned her campaign $6.4 million. A loan. You know, even Romney knew he wasn't getting his $30 million back. She should at least suck it up and put the money in the pot, lest her supporters consider their donations as a loan and ask for their money back.

Stick a fork in her. She's done.

So, we were having a late dinner and watching the late results from Indiana come in. Incidentally, it *could* be that Clinton won thanks to Limbaugh's "Operation Chaos" after all.

Anyway, they brought on the mayor of Hammond, a Tom McDermott. Now, I don't even care who he was for (though he's a big Clinton fan), but this guy is like the slimiest piece of crap politician I've seen in recent memory. And hell, the Republicans have been running the country.

Seriously, he kept talking about voting impropriety and then ending the sentence with something like "not that I'm saying that". He must have taken notes from Hillary's "as far as I know" chapter on how to diminish others. He basically accused the mayor of Gary of rigging the election for Obama. And having grown up on stories of Chicagoland politics, I get what the mayor of Gary was doing: making sure every precinct had every vote before turning them over to the county. That way no one accuses him of making up and/or rejecting absentee votes after the fact.

But that wasn't fast enough for CNN, or for freak show McDermott, who thankfully was proven to be a shill by votes coming in as he was about to bring down the wrath of Hillary and discredit, renounce, reject, disown, and probably sue Mayor Rudy Clay for being either a) black, b) an Obama supporter, or c) a latte-sipping Volvo driver who doesn't have three nuts like Hillary. Or whatever the assholes over there are coming up with.

The only thing I did enjoy about my abbreviated results viewing was finally catching Clinton speak for the first time in many months. Apparently the old firebrand looked very defeated this evening. I will give her this though, she didn't cry.

Yet.

Meanwhile, Bill Moyers on Jeremiah Wright:

So far, Hillary is winning the angry farm vote in Indiana. No big surprise having lived in the region. I figure a third of them still have white sheets and hoods in their closets and some of those are crossing over from the GOP because Limbaugh told them to. And Clinton doesn't care about this, either.

Keith Olbermann on Clinton's ever-shifting goals and ever-excluding support base:

And, apparently, Hillary Clinton has three nuts.

In Repugnican't news, John McCain wants to reinstate the League of Nations to confront Iran. And we thought the GOP was against speaking to other nations.

Also, Laura Bush, in a speech about the 20,000 plus victims of the Myanmar cyclone, breaks from this tragedy of human suffering to discuss the apparently far-more-important details of Jenna's wedding. It isn't "Let them eat cake" but it sure is close.

In Clinton/Republican news, apparently Barack Obama can be both a radical Muslim AND a radical Black Christian at the same time. “Does anyone here really trust the oil companies to give you the savings, when they could just pocket the money themselves? There’s not an expert out there that believes that this is going to work. There’s not an editorial out there that has said this is actually the answer to high gas prices. In fact my understanding is today, Senator Clinton had to send out a surrogate to speak on behalf of this plan, and all she could find was, get this, a lobbyist for Shell Oil to explain how this is going to be good for consumers. It’s a ’shell game,’ literally.”

- Barack Obama, in a speech in Indianapolis

The editorial mentioned in the ad can be found here.

More on those against the gas tax.

Add your name to this petition.

And while Clinton can't find a economist for her insane and pointless gimmick, here is a growing list of economists against it.

Obama, for his part, just calls it a "Shell game".

Strangely, Clinton is now against expert opinions, which used to be a huge deal for her.

This article asks if she's about to discredit math as elitist too.

Republicans love her Republican campaigining and some will continue to vote for her. And NPR comes out of its pro-Clinton cage long enough to acknowledge that, yes, she IS running like a Republican.

To wrap up, Frank Rich asks why conservative religious fringe types, and the candidates they support, get off the hook when they are white. "The only Obama-Clinton ticket I would endorse is one that includes funkmaster deluxe George Clinton. Otherwise, no dice."

- Commenter TKD

While normally I don't read Marc Ambinder much (he's another Clinton apologist), he has an interesting poll up on the concept of an Obama/Clinton ticket. Vote here and vote accordingly.

Andrew Sullivan brought this up awhile back, and is grudgingly for it. I still firmly believe that doing so nullifies everything Obama says he is against concerning the tone and tenor of Washington politics. Plus, as oft noted, I am not voting for a racist and she increasingly qualifies as such.

More campaign nonsense, including a gag on the gas tax scam.

Also, some fun at the expense of Hillary as her campaign makes up an imaginary gun to try to challenge Obama on his gun control stance. Annie Oakley my ass.

Paul Krugman swears he isn't a Clinton supporter, but his words betray him. Maybe if he changes his name to Peter and denies her two more times....

To wrap, a good article from Kurt Anderson on the whole elitist charge.

According to Black Box Voting, the voting rolls have been slashed, predominantly in areas where Obama has been expected to dominate.

Take a look at the map below and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I know Evan Bayh swears he can deliver the state for Hillary, but this is ridiculous.

Hopefully the campaign is on top of this and will resolve the issue as best it can.

So, today, via a video on HuffPo because I'm still not going to watch FAUXNews for anything useful, we saw why, despite his many, many, MANY faults, Howard Dean is head of the DNC. He tells it like he sees it.

Now if only he could tell Clinton to go buzz off.

Meanwhile, Clinton mulls plans to steal the nomination. Also, Dean will be key in thwarting this attempt should he grow the stones required to block this.

Since no economist in America can find a way to back the Clinton-McCain gas tax holiday, Hillary has dubbed them all "elitists". Wait, I swear I've heard that before....

The Boston Herald focuses on Hillary's insane foreign policy ideas in Hillary Strangelove.

I've shown a variation of this before, but it bears repeating:

Not that I ever put a lot of merit into what Dick Morris has to say, but he might be right in arguing that Hillary is - at this point anyway - running for the nomination in 2012 instead of this year.

And this is weird, but since she considers gays firmly behind her already, I guess Clinton is cool with a little light gay bashing to inspire the more surly and intolerant blue collar voters she wants to pull for her. Nice.

And hey, let's follow up with a Tom Hanks endorsement.
